Stuart Dowell – Polish to English Translator
I’m a UK citizen originally from Harrogate in North Yorkshire but I’ve been living and working in Warsaw, Poland since 1996.
My university background is in Politics and Economics and these are in fact the areas of translation I work in most often. My interests and specialisations in Polish to English translation are in financial and economic translation on one hand and political and public administration translation on the other.
My adventure with Polish language started in 1996 when I came to Poland to work as an English language trainer for local businesses and institutions. I learned the language through my own self-study, travels, experiences, work and friendships and finally certified my knowledge with langauge proficiency qualifications from the European Consortium of Languages.
In 2003 I turned my attention to translation and took the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation (Polish to English) exam and the Intitute of Translators and Interpreters (Polish to English) assessment.
My clients are translation agencies and direct clients from Poland, other EU countries and occasionally further afield.
